Race page

Glen Lyon Trail Race is a 15.5 mile foot race held in the stunning remote Glen Lyon in the Perthshire hills.

For information on the ultra marathon option see its page.

The route is 100% off road and will follow a loop of Loch Lyon with around 6 river crossings which means your feet will get wet. Shortly after the start, runners face a steep climb followed by an undulating course for the next fourteen miles, finishing back at Glen Lyon Dam.

There is water station at around 8 miles. Camping is available on the Saturday night at Glen Lyon Dam where you will also find runners toilets.

Runners will be required to carry mandatory kit which will be confirmed in the race briefing sent out 3 weeks before the race. Check the race rules below for an idea. This will include a small first aid kit for running repairs. Runners are reminded to read and understand the full race briefing and should ask any questions if they are in any doubt about any information. “I didn’t know” is not an excuse and will lead to disqualification.

The race fee includes a race memento, and goody bag for collection on race day. A technical race t-shirt is an optional extra.

Covid 19:
